"Helen, I want to lose weight once and for all. I'm determined."
The very next sentence: "Ugh I can't do it. I can never stick to anything. What if it doesn't work" 😉
When self-talk doesn't match intention, the tension in the body rises and eventually one side wins...and it's usually the side that is fear-based and that can lead to inaction and continuing to stay stuck.
Be careful of what you say to yourself, because it WILL become your reality.
A life of feeling anxious, stressed, starting and not finishing stuff, making half-assed attempts...because your self talk sounds something like this:
I can never succeed in anything
Well, it worked for her, but it won't work for me because XXX
I'll have to struggle forever
What if it doesn't work
I can't do it
Thoughts ▶️Feelings ▶️Actions▶️Reality
